This book The Kid in the Red Jacket by Barbara Park is a great book. When I met the characters, it changed my head because when Howard moved I thought he just moved and that was the end. But now I am being more considerate of what other people are going through. Imagine losing a friend because they moved to a different state. That’s what changed my head.
When I met the characters, it changed my heart because Molly’s mom and dad got divorced and neither her mother nor her dad wanted her, so they abandoned her. Molly had to go thru foster care for a long time but finally her grandma (Nonny) adopted her. It made me think about what other people are going through, and to consider why people act the way they act. As Molly Vera Thompson said herself ̈I don’t always like real.̈ This is why I think you should read The Kid in the Red Jacket by Barbara Park.
